Galley kitchen - hob on opposite wall to oven

Trying to figure out a layout for my kitchen diner, and wondering if this would work? Also would it put you off if you were buying, as we may sell in a few years.

On one wall I'd have the sink, hob and integrated fridge on the end(with a base unit between fridge and hob)

Opposite the fridge would be an eye level oven and microwave, and the rest on this side would be counter space, with a larder on the other end.

The other option is to swap the fridge and oven/micro unit around, but the space next to the hob wouldn't be enough for both (for taking out hot trays/food prep etc)

I'm thinking I'd prefer to have separate counter space around both, rather than 'share' the space between if that makes sense. Are there any obvious downsides I'm missing?

I had oven separated from hob in my old house and it didn't bother me at all.

In fact it was quite handy having draws directly under hob for everything needed under hob and then cupboard under oven for trays etc 😊

Thanks Damna. Yes that's a definite plus, my current pan cupboard is like jenga.

We did the kitchen a couple of years ago. Gallery setup with hob and sink on one side, fridge and oven on the other. I wanted to maximise counter space and have two sets of large drawers so a conventional oven on the opposite side of the hob was the only way.

I love it. Having the worktop above is great, perfect when baking and bringing hot things out of the oven, and agree with Damna re storage of pans etc. I think you have to go with what works for you.
