Scrubbable Interior paint - Whats the best on the market?

HI,
I am painting my interior as the current paint marks really easily and you can't clean it ..... Its a Dulux Trade product & I can't stand it.

What should I go for? It's for the hall which gets a lot of traffic including kids going up the stairs etc.

Must be super durable and scrubbable.

thx

Our decorator recommended the valspar scrubbable one. We have it in our hallway and kitchen. 4 kids, so lots of traffic and lots of mucky hands. It's been great so far, I wipe it down fairly regularly and so far every mark has come off.

WBWIFE · 22/09/2019 22:24

Valspar gold one that is scrubbable

Dulux Trade Diamond Matt every time for me. Expensive but worth it. I think you can only get it at a Dulux paint store though, the stuff they sell off the shelf in B&Q etc is nowhere near as durable.

Burningcheeks · 23/09/2019 04:44

I used F&B eggshell on my hall & that's scrubbable. But a week or so ago I read on here that another poster used white house exterior paint indoors & that it was totally matt but very cleanable - recommended by their decorator. Also very cheap.

Thanks all!

Rollonoctober & WBWIFE I was going to use the Valspar one but when I asked our builder they said they don't like it? I am not sure if it is harder to apply or what the reason is.....
I still think its a good option - though online reviews aren't good!

Any more experiences with Valspar? Or Little Green or others?

thanks!

I really like Leyland paint, I normally get it mixed into F&B colours

StillNumb · 23/09/2019 08:14

I had Crown Extreme Clean, the one from the decorators centre. I really like it, cleans really well and looks matt.

Spanglybangles · 23/09/2019 14:48

I’m delighted with Dulux Diamond Matt, not tried the trade version though so it could be even better.

JammieCodger · 23/09/2019 15:46

My decorator has just recommended Crown Scrubbable Matt as more durable and easier to apply than dulux.

WildCherryBlossom · 23/09/2019 17:17

I have Farrow & Ball modern emulsion on walls in the heaviest use areas (up staircase etc). I have wiped and scrubbed all manner of disgusting stuff off it. Replaced F&B with Dulux bathroom in the bathroom and it has chipped and flaked fairly quickly.

My house is being painted next week. My decorator won't use Valspar as he says it's poor quality. I've managed to find a dulux equivalent, but struggling with the one I wanted for the kitchen. So hoping it can be colour matched.

StormBaby · 24/09/2019 22:49

I've just used a Wickes scrubbable matt in the hallways, hoping it's as good as it looks. It's a lovely rich velvety paint.

I can recommend Little Greene intelligent Matt Emulsion is environmentally-friendly,completely washable and the colours are great.

grownup2 · 27/09/2019 20:45

I also rate Little Greene intelligent Matt Emulsion. Expensive but I'm a posh paint advocate if you want to use colours, as the pigments need to be intense and expertly blended. If you want even more matt and washable at a similar price level, Mylands emulsion is worth considering. It has marble powder in it to aid the matt effect. My experience is that it takes a couple of weeks to fully cure but really impressively tough and beautiful after that.

My hall has DC traffic and a dog and I’ve never scrubbed a wall in my life. What on Earth happens to your walls? Repaint? Probably quicker.

SoTiredNeedHoliday · 30/09/2019 18:15

BubblesBuddy scrubbable in terms of paint care means wiping gently with a cloth and water and maybe a tiny bit of fairy..... It's not a scrubbing brush with full strength applied Smile

or perhaps your dog is well trained and never touches an inch of the wall?

No he doesn’t. He’s not big though. We towel him down if he’s wet.

PickAChew · 30/09/2019 19:51

I'm pretty impressed by Little Greene Intelligent Matt. I have it in my kitchen and dining room and it really has stood up to a lot.

Not impressed by the retail dulux easycare or whatever it;s called, these days. Really coarse finish and not easy to clean. It's in the boys' bedrooms and looks grotty already, after just 18 months.

Thrupennybrit · 30/09/2019 20:31

I have Dulux Diamond Matt White Cotton behind my sink and hob, no splashback. Obviously they get spattered with grease, tomato sauce, tea etc but are still as good as new when wiped, 18 months since I decorated. My decorator bought it from a trade place.

MaybeitsMaybelline · 01/10/2019 06:08

Another one for trade Duluth Diamond. Have it down my staircase and with three adults in the house that frequently scrape overnight bags down the wall it is fab.

DustyDoorframes · 01/10/2019 11:48

I've had little green intelligent emulsion in a kitchen too, and was very happy with it. They are very low VOC too which is good!

NamedyChangedy · 01/10/2019 13:53

We had the whole house painted in Dulux Diamond two years ago, and it's amazing. Jammy handprints and scuffs come straight off after wiping with a wet cloth. The walls would look an absolute state if we had used the normal stuff.
