How much was your kitchen?

I hope this is not super cheeky but I'm trying to gauge what is a realistic budget for a kitchen. I know we can't afford top of the range everything but not do I want basic.
So how much did you spend? Budget. Thanks.

Howdens with quartz worktop, 5 zone induction, larder unit, built in fridge/freezer, dw, double oven extractor . Incl fitting, plumbing, plastering and electrics was £10k. Really happy with it.

Redspider1 · 07/09/2019 21:23

Oh and a solid wood breakfast bar too. Medium sized kitchen.

Yeahyeahyeahyeeeeah · 07/09/2019 21:34

Being a nosy fucker, I really want to see some of these £40k+ kitchens

I’ll post it when it’s done... but honestly, I’m now wondering if I’m mad!

JoJoSM2 · 07/09/2019 22:04

Going through showrooms, I can definitely see how much nicer the 40k+ kitchens are over my DIY one. A bit like the £500 shoes or 100k cars. I'm not sure if the expense is necessarily that visible in photos but the difference in person is vast.

Macca84 · 07/09/2019 22:49

YeahYeah not mad at all, I would LOVE an amazing kitchen! It's the main room you want the wow factor in I reckon. My current one cost £12k and I love it, if I had a £40k< one, I would eat, drink, socialise and most probably sleep in it Grin

RJnomore1 · 07/09/2019 22:58

Totally depends. I spent £1K on a fridge freezer before I started.

However I’m pretty sure without that included I’ve come in around £10K, that’s with Bosch and neff built in appliances, including microwave and 5 burner gas hob, 16 units from diy kitchens, lvt flooring, composite sink, pop up sockets, waste disposal, new lighting, boiling tap and pull out everything. I shopped RUTHLESSLY and didn’t buy thinks in a package from one place.

I only compromised on laminate worktops not quartz as I have just moved abd have 3 bathrooms to do. Quartz from diy would have been about £2k more fitted. I can do that later on.

RJnomore1 · 07/09/2019 23:01

Taking down a wall and putting in 2 rsj’s was £3k I haven’t included there.

LimpingAlong3 · 08/09/2019 03:54

18k for oak units, 6k for marble tops, 6k for appliances, lighting, flooring, sockets & sundry add-ons not included.

morrisdog · 08/09/2019 10:29

40k- Harvey Jones

4K small utility from Benchmarx, incl £1500 worktop

8k - 2x3m discounted from Wickes

11k- 4m x 2m , Wickes

17k - 5m x3m with island, Wickes.

I think with kitchen companies it really depends on the actual kitchen installer. We lucked out with a fantastic guy from Wickes.

£47k 7m x 4m with corian Island - local independent bespoke.

Mummyshark2018 · 08/09/2019 17:43

We've just finished building a 6x6m kitchen diner. Kitchen (large island, 3 tall larder units and then a back wall of units), including integrated appliances cost 10k including fitting. This was from wickes. We haggled and got a really good deal. Electrics and plumbing was extra but don't know what it cost for the kitchen specifically as they were also doing other work for us.

XingMing · 08/09/2019 20:04

About 18k including a new range and a lot more plastering (whole new ceiling) than we planned for. But it's a big room with 12 meters of work surface (which we did cheap). No islands, no extraction, no major redesign.

Fortheloveofscience · 09/09/2019 07:29

Our new Howdens kitchen is nearly finished and total spend will be about £22k. Of that, the cabinets were about £6k, flooring about £3k, appliances plus sink/taps/worktops about £4k and the rest labour - we live in a very expensive area and needed a lot of work doing to plumbing/electrics, specialist plastering and bespoke fitting because we live in an awkward shape old house.

tomboytown · 09/09/2019 10:47

Approx £52k incl floor/fireplace & appliances

MiniCooperLover · 09/09/2019 16:49

Ours will hopefully come in just under £20K. The kitchen is £8K from Benchmarx and the floor (all of downstairs) is about £6. Then it's fitting and appliances bringing it up to £20K.

Jenniferturkington · 09/09/2019 16:55

Apparently 40k. But it was in when we purchased the house. It’s a Harvey Jones kitchen with Neff appliances and a lot of granite. I wanted to replace one of the cupboards for a different type of cupboard and they quoted £500!

notso · 09/09/2019 17:14

About £12000 including
quartz work tops,
integrated Neff appliances( 2 single hide and slide ovens, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and hob)
extractor,
4in1 boiling water tap,
composite sink,
lights,
porcelain tiles on the floor,
glass splash back,
plastering,
fitting,
electrics/plumbing done
and a kitchen aid.

EastCoastDamsel · 09/09/2019 18:14

That is very good value notso did you replace the units also, and if so where from?

Yeahyeahyeahyeeeeah · 09/09/2019 18:57

@tomboytown which kitchen did you go for?

tomboytown · 09/09/2019 19:22

It’s a local independent
In the NW if that’s any good?
