Anyone got a concrete 'wooden' beam above their fireplace? (inglebeam)

We're having a gas stove installed and to try level off an uneven opening the store have suggested a concrete beam that looks like wood - a Newman Inglebeam

They look pretty good online but wondering if anyone has one and can comment on the 'in the flesh' outcome?

Thanks!

We have one above our wood burner, had it for 5 years. We chose it over wood as it protects the tv on the wall above from the heat as it stays really cool. I love it! Looks great and everyone thinks it’s real wood. Only issue we’ve had is that’s it’s faded a bit due to washing but if you just dust it, it should be fine.

Fab, thanks! And good advice about the washing, we'll stick to dusting!!

Was yours a Newman one?

I can’t remember to be honest, although there weren’t many companies making them when we got ours so it could be. We bought it from the place where we got our stove from and they came highly recommended. Tit still looks great though even though it’s faded a bit, just adds to the character!

Just looked and I think it is a Newman one, the Bideford in dark oak I think.
