Is this going to be a nightmare? House with a well.

We have put an offer on a house that's only source of water is a well. We have never had a well. Any experience?

We have a spring, it is fabulous water, no chemicals, no smell.
When we go to a mains water area, the water seems to stink of chlorine, whereas when we lived in a mains water area we never noticed it.

The guys in the hard water area do have a softener but they have a separate hard water tap fitted as the sodium levels needed to soften the very hard water are higher than recommended level for drinking regularly.
Due to the hardness they also go through a lot of salt and they require frequent servicing of the equipment.
It works in their situation but does require additional thought and effort
