This is just a quick question about upper floor windows.

I would like to put a window on the side of my house in the upper bedroom for a little more light as it only has a tiny one and it’s at the back. This side faces my neighbours house.

I’ve checked planning with the council and this allowed, its with frosted glass which defeats the object.

My neighbour has a window in their wall facing me but it’s not frosted and they have another window - dormer - in the same room, their bedroom.

Has the rule about frosted glass changed in the last few years?

If my neighbour doesn’t agree Would I be able to ask my neighbour to replace the glass with frosted then? As it looks right into my kitchen window.

Just not sure where I stand and would be grateful for your thoughts.

Thank you!

I don't see how having frosted glass wouldn't be good enough to let light in? There are some nice frosted glasses available. or you could have a modern stained glass one which would be nice to look at. Are you talking about wanting extra light or a better view?
