New house has half finished kitchen

Our new home has an odd kitchen design, it's a big room but with only a few units and no appliances. I think the units are Ikea but I'll find out this week. There's a separate utility space so at least the washing machine and dishwasher will be out the way. I'm wondering whether it would be better to:

  • Buy stand alone appliances and tolerate not having integrated ones. Buy a kitchen island table to fill space and make things look more finished. This would be great in that it saves £££

Or

  • Buy all appliances from Ikea. I've had a look ans this would be close to 3k, I was a bit shocked by this. Ikea don't seem to do a double oven with grill, so we'd have to shell out £900 for a oven and microwave oven combo. Then we'd have to pay for fitting, no idea how much this would be?

Any advice? It's a shame there are no appliances as I'd rather live with it before making a big decision, but we're stuck

IKEA units will take standard integrated appliances. We have a double oven and dishwasher we bought from ao.com. No issues fitting them in.

Stand along island is something we have as well. Works well for us :-)

Re dishwasher in utility. Don’t do it! Such a pain walking back and forth unloading stacking etc

We have a kitchen island made for us to match the Ikea kitchen. It's on lockable wheels. It's ace! Bought from etsy then added an offcut from our own surfaces to match materials.
