Selling house without an estate agent

Hi, I've tried to sell my house with an online agent and a high street agent. Had poor experiences with both. My house is on a street that sells well, house is in great condition, and I am realistic about price. When I had the house on with the online agent I did the viewings myself. I was home one day when the high street agent was showing people around and was shocked at his "sales technique". I know all I need is the house on rightmove and I can do the rest. I have high quality photos from the online agent and a floor plan. I have solicitors in place. How can I get my house on rightmove without an agent? How can I sell my house without an agent?

How can I sell my house without an agent?

You can't.

Someone like this will provide access to Rightmove: doorsteps.co.uk/

My house is on a street that sells well, house is in great condition, and I am realistic about price

Which makes it somewhat strange that two separate agents have failed to find a willing buyer.

Regardless of how bad the 'sales technique' may have been, if the house is priced right in a popular spot it should attract interest.

Rightmove don’t deal with private sellers, so in short, you can’t.

Agree with the above, do you have a link to the current advert?

I think it's disgraceful that there's no reputable website where houses could be sold without estate agents. But hey, all the BS jobs are keeping the unemployment rate nice and low.

They did find buyers.
The first agent got me three offers but didn't check people situation before sending them around. I had people who hadn't even got their property on the market yet coming to view.
Second agent got me an offer too. The buyer then kept dropping the price every week like it was some bizarre "make it up as you go along" approach and the agent just kept telling me to accept whatever their new random offer was. They were on a fixed fee, no sale no fee so didnt care what it sold for as long as it sold.

I have seen people advertising their houses on gumtree before.
I agree with estate agents being useless. I was here when one tried to sell ours, it was along the lines of 'here's the bathroom, here's the utility room'...

When I was watched the EA do a viewing I was really not impressed. My kitchen is small. You can tell that easily on the photos on rightmove, you can tell on the floor plan on rightmove, you can tell on the brochure the EA hands them as soon as they make a viewing. Yet when he was showing people around all he kept doing was going on and on about how small the kitchen was eventhiugh the viewers didnt raise it.

I went to view a house, EA showed us around. Got home noticed on brochure the house had a huge garage on the side and a converted attic - none of which the agent had mentioned or shown us Hmm

Are there some "minimum involvement" estate agents? I didn't know you couldn't get on Rightmove except through an EA.

So it looks like DIY techniques, local adverts, make your own For Sale board and such like.

I'd be interested to see how that goes, would you mind updating the thread?

Just pay the £700 for an online agent as Rightmove is all that matters. Estate agents are useless and that's one job that should go in the future!

I sold mine without an estate agent - to the first person and complete stranger I met in the street (a young couple). First time buyer and no links and held an AIP mortgage. Just my luck, I suppose.
