Come and talk to me about conservatories!

I know. Fascinating, right? Specifically, is it a good idea to knock them down?

House is one end of a row of three cottages. Roughly semi-circular tiny patio garden wrapping round the side. Currently there’s a conservatory - plastic roof, no brickwork, but watertight & with a radiator and plug points. Floor is just concrete.

The house needs some non-urgent exterior work. I don’t like conservatories in general - they always feel damp and spidery to me. Don’t have the money to replace it with a ‘proper’ room. It seems silly to spend money doing the guttering etc and still be left this unattractive space I don’t use.

I’m leaning towards getting it removed and putting some nice garden furniture with a parasol or awning or something where it was. That would make the end of the garden more usable (currently the width of the conservatory kind of cuts it off). BUT I have a little voice going ‘no! Don’t remove a perfectly usable room! Would you wall up the downstairs loo just because you don’t like it?’ Is it right? Or should I just ignore it and crack on?

TL:DR:
I dislike my ugly but perfectly usable conservatory. Would I be nuts to just get rid of it and benefit from extra garden space?
