It's the measuring I'm worried about - kitchen planning

Going to replace my extremely tatty kitchen. I'm armed with graph paper, online tools and DIY kitchen's little cut out shapes.
The thing I'm really bothered about is the measuring Confused There are pipes, wonky walls etc.
The design bit is easy enough (pretty much identical to current layout) but I don't have the patience or right sort of brain to work out end panels, fillers and the like.
The only independent kitchen planner I can find is 200 miles away!
What I'd love is someone to come to me and measure and draw a super accurate plan. Happy to pay to get it right.
Does such a thing exist? I live in the NW. TIA

Every kitchen I've ordered has been planned and measured by a designer. From B&Q to Avanti someone has always come out.

I used a fantastic lady called Karen Wallace otherwise known as Oneplan on Houzz. She did my kitchen design by phone and email! I live in France and my kitchen came from DIY. She's also a MNetter!

Diy kitchens chekc your plans an dput in fillers and end panels where needed.

You literally put in the appliances and units you want where you want them and they do the rest. It's so easy.

Thanks folks SmileSounds like I'm stressing too much, I'm usually pretty competent Grin
I'm considering carcasses from wherever and then getting plywood doors made locally ( a friend did this and it's cheap)
Think I need to put my big girl pants on and give it a goGrin

As it goes, I was thinking of doing that in our new house. We've spent a fortune on handmade kitchens but we keep moving house so never really get our money's worth.
What sort of prices are you looking at if you don't mind me asking?

Wallywobbles · 11/08/2019 10:10

Forgot to say that Karen also did me an order list for DIY too.

Benjispruce · 11/08/2019 10:11

Howdens come out to check your measurements.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 11/08/2019 10:32

If you buy a kitchen from Ikea they will come and do the measurements for £50. They will also fit it for you if you wish.

Ariela · 11/08/2019 11:36

Ask for recommendations on a local Facebook page.

CraftyGin · 11/08/2019 11:38

Ikea will come in and measure/plan for about £30. You don’t have to buy from them.

ElstreeViaduct · 11/08/2019 11:54

Loads of places come out, measure and plan for you. Wickes and B&Q do for free, I expect Homebase will too, IKEA does for a fee refundable against purchase price.

Pay a lot of attention to what size units they're putting in and where the end panels and fillers go, and personally I only go to people I'm seriously considering giving my business to.

Mammy, ply sheets were £60 each and she just paid for the cuts - don't know exactly how much but they look great. The grain matches across the double unit doors iyswim. You get several doors from one sheet

Wow that sounds like a bargain!! Thank you. Good luck! Exciting times

M0reGinPlease · 11/08/2019 21:40

Yep there's a way.

Get B&Q out to measure and plan.

Take the plan to DIY Kitchens.

Karen at OnePlan did mine too. She came up with four options and we then whittled it down to one that was perfect for us. I took the pdf to six showrooms and saved more than £8500 from most expensive ( not top end ) to least expensive . Wasn't brave enough to go to the top end shops.

We were able to haggle better too with our own set of designs. As didn't need to full retail treatment, so argued we wouldn't need to be paying the full retail price. Everyone ( except DIY kitchens ) gave us a discounted price.
