Would you buy this house?

So many conflicting views and dh is leaving the decision to me. We are looking a property that is near large police hq training centre. It has an enormous phone tower. Property is also on the outskirts of quite a rough area on one side but beautiful countryside on the other. The property is not cheap. It is a one off amazing large period house and probably £300k more expensive than any other property close by. In a better part of area we would not be able to afford it. Would you buy it?

@Bluntwhistle - I think you may have answered your own question there. If they are hanging out for the one person who will fall in love with it and pay what they want then - that is their prerogative. I would keep looking and do come back and tell us if it still on the market in another 2 years' time. Oh I do not mean to make light but seriously if £700k is what you are comfortable with for that house in that location , walk away & leave the decision to them. I do think people get very attached to houses and sometimes have a very unrealistic expectation of what it is worth. There are factors I know , but essentially a house is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it and in 2 years - no-one has been so prepared. ( Other cliches are available - I can churn them out Grin ) Good luck though & I would keep 1) the offer on the table and 2) keep looking. All best to you ,
