Large walk in shower tray - corner or central waste/ drain needed?

Bit clueless - if the shower is going on the wall on the narrow side of the rectangular tray, and it is 1.6m long will a central waste tray be ok or does it need to be at the far end??

we had a walk in wet room type shower and the drain was in the center and the tile sloped very slightly towards the drain worked very well

OK - I figure if the shower head is at one end but the tray is 1.6m the water will only ever reach as far as the middle anyway and they must be designed for this!

Mines at the end where the shower head is.

we've had two - first one was a wet room style with wedgee board under with central drain and shower head over it, second one was at the end where the shower is (but central, again not in corner).

The central drain was the more effective.

I’ve gone for drain at shower head end because I didn’t want to stand on the drain. Haven’t tried it out though (building work still going) so hope it works.

OK thanks for this - seems there is not a crystal clear way to do it and either would be ok.

What determined my waste location was the joist positions. If you're having your tray recessed or laying on a suspended floor you don't want a joist in the way of your waste or pipework.
