It can be gas or electric. Planning new kitchen. I'm torn about whether a range type would be used enough or just to get a standard double oven ....

Is an everhot really £6000?

Try a new Aga Shock

D'oh - I never thought of that Pockets!

Yes, it is very expensive for an Everhot. I have the 100i. It also heats the kitchen where we have no heating, and no possibility of any without a huge bill! Also, I had Falcon gief. This is how I justified it!

Arsparsley, yet it is beyond my expectations in every way. Once you get the hang of it everything tastes better. You cook mainly in the ovens, so stuff like rice, polenta, risotto, softening onions happens there after being started on the hob.

The induction hob is as controllable as gas. You can make toast and pancakes on the hotplate. Every morsel you eat is delicious!

There is a great Facebook group with loads of info.

Thanks! Mine is arriving at the end of the month. Like you, part of the reason for it is to heat the kitchen so I’m pleased to hear it’s effective.
I’m a little nervous about getting used to it but have heard only good things and I’m grateful to you for sharing your experiences and enthusiasm. Can’t wait !

I have two electric ovens, which are fabulously accurate andh have a gazillion different programmes, plus an induction hob, which is frankly the best thing since sliced bread. It holds a temperature with incredible precision so that you can reduce a sauce with almost no mess. Having the extra space of two has been a godsend at Christmas.
