Please can someone critique my bathroom plan?

Hopefully it is self explanatory. It is an ensuite and the door can open into the bedroom not into the bathroom. It's 2.9m by 2.6m not including the bay window.

Where's the window?

Thedogisdrivingmemad · 03/08/2019 19:15

oops! It is above the bath on the long side. I am choosing a bath that fits under the sill and there is a nice deep shelf in the bay that would be ideal for putting bottles on, be they wine or bath stuff...

your name is perfect for this by the way!

Taps in the middle of the bath, you don’t want to be leaning over the loo to run it.

Do you definitely need a separate shower/bath. The extra space could be made into lovely fitted storage freeing up other parts of the house.

Good point re taps. Yes definitely want both the shower and bath and separate ones.

Hmm I think I would put the shower in the corner where the towel rail is, the sink where the loo is and the loo in the corner next to the sink. Then towel rail either between loo and shower or between shower and door depending on what shape/orientation the shower is. I haven’t drawn that out but feels like it would have fewer pinch points?

Also rehang the door so it opens against the window wall.

Ok I will plot that on a plan tomorrow and see how it would look...thanks Mini.

@Mustardscreams it's interesting that made that comment. We're currently planning the layout if a similar sized ensuite and we've just had the same idea.

Shower will now go over bath (we will have separate shower in main bathroom anyway) and where the shower was going to go will now be a cupboard for sheets, bedding, etc accessed from the bedroom.

MustardScreams · 04/08/2019 09:31

@Muffinbutton it’s really useful. I just redid my en-suite and was desperate for storage space. I left a few cupboards open to use as shelves to display my fancier products & for plants so it’s not just a wall of doors. No handles so it looks neater.

Re my comment above, when I said window wall I meant the wall with the long bath side.

Thedogisdrivingmemad · 07/08/2019 22:43

Ok new version...@minipie is this more like it?

That looks more spacious to me . I had suggested bath by the window but only because I thought you wanted to keep it there, this is better.

Thedogisdrivingmemad · 07/08/2019 23:24

It seems the bath would be too high above the window sill so it didn't work. Would you swap the loo and vanity? I figured this way means one doesn't walk in and look at the loo and also the window sill would be useful for a nice basket for storage.
