Bathroom flooring

Any recommendations? For a small first floor bathroom. My preference would be tiles but builder recommended vinyl as not a huge floor space and he said better waterproofing than tiles (I was whinging about how much water the DC chuck about the place). But I don't seem to be able to work out if half the vinyl I'm looking at is a sheet or individual tiles (which I'm assuming will have as much risk of water getting through/under as ceramic tiles?). Or any other suggestions?!!

Go with vinyl - you'll never have to worry about grubby grout lines again! I'd recommend solid vinyl rather than vinyl tiles just for the handiness and speed of fitting it.

The easiest way to tell the difference between the two types of vinyl is that vinyl tiles are usually sold as packs of 6 or 12 whereas the solid vinyl is sold on a roll so will be advertised as being x metres wide (usually between 2 and 4 metres wide and you then decide the length you need based on the size of your room).

Vinyl flooring is horribly toxic and bad for the environment as the chemicals it leaches bioaccumulate. I would use tile. Especially if you have a crawling baby. Use grey grout if you are worried about the grout discolouring.

Thanks - that elementary about the sizing, hadn't even thought of that 🙄!!

Arrrgh, i also thought it was relatively eco friendly and from recycled plastics! Kids beyond crawling (not that bathroom is big enough), but definitely a consideration. Thanks

Rubber flooring is good for a bathroom.
We have vinyl, installed recently as were on a very strict budget and had to fit ourselves.
Had rubber in the kitchen and bathroom in a previous house from the colour flooring company, used a fitter, and was very happy with itZ

Tiles all the way, vinyl looks tacky imo.

If installed correctly, you have no issues about waterproofing.
