New GCH system - what are the must haves.

I'm buying a house that needs GCH putting in. I'm looking for ideas - I am on a tight budget but what are the things I need to think about if I'm designing a system from scratch? It's a 2 bed 1930s house, just me and dd living there. I don't want to take up the floors downstairs, but am anticipating having put new carpet upstairs (needs it anyway), so drop downs and will get them encased in wall and replaster those sections then redec. I may also look at putting in some extra electrical sockets too - will see what survey says about how old electrics are etc.

I have a 2 month notice period on my rental so can potentially get this done before I move in - from what i understand it takes 1-2 weeks max and if it's just a case of adding some more sockets, that can be done alongside the plumbing work.

I'm thinking Worcester combi boiler ,thermostatic radiators, wireless thermostat.

I think I'd like volcanic vertical rads - flat panel if I can find any I like. Not designer - but a good name like Acova.

Are there any must haves. I used to have a megaflow but do I really need one in a house this size ?

You need to get some Gas Safe heating engineers to quote, they will be able to advise on what is possible. Calculations on heat loss etc have to be made.
Some of the heating regulations may mean your ideas may have to be changed.
We recently had a complete CH refit and to minimise pipe drops some of our pipes drop down inside the under-stairs cupboard.
Our old system ( put in by previous owners )had pipes in the wall, the plaster cracked along the routes.
