Hi everyone!

A little about me. I'm 25, i've lived in London/Chelsea for a year, originally from Wales. I have a month to find a new place to live, more likely I will stay in Chelsea. I love the area, and it costs almost nothing for my easy commute to work.

I've got two options i'm looking at,

Option 1. SW10. The flat is on the second floor of a warm, lovely house. would be sharing with one other female Tennant. Double bedroom and good sized flat. Area is OK.

Option 2. SW3. Flat is in an excellent location, but will be sharing with 2 other female tenants. Room is lovely, but single bed, (i'm currently single, but aware friends might want to stay from back home when visiting) no living area, just bathroom and kitchen. Rent is at a set price (with bills included) and will be £50/£100 cheaper a month than option 1, depending on the month.

Option 3. Wait for something else to become available, but will probably be similar dynamics to now.

Option 1 is standing out, more homely, but the location is so great with option 2, and the lower rent is appealing.

What would you do in this situation?

Tbh, a single bedroom without a living room sounds pretty awful. Do you just have your meals on your single bed?

Is there a living area in flat 1?

@JoJoSM2

Yes flat 1 has a lovely kitchen/dining living area space.

I didn't consider that. You're right, that doesn't sound appealing in the long run.

Tbh, flat 1 sounds like a nice place to be long term. And like somewhere where you could have friends over for dinner or space for visitors from Wales. £50-100 is a bit of a difference but presumably only a small % given rental prices in London.

Flat 1 for sure. If saving money was really a factor you wouldn't be looking at Chelsea. Even across the river in Battersea you'd get a better deal. But as you want to pay enough to be there, it makes sense to still have a decent standard of living. No way would I pay Chelsea prices for a single bed and no living space. Flat 1 sounds ideal, and there's really not much in it distance-wise.

Flat 1 of those two options.

Its super shitty renting a room in a house with no social space. Unless you are the kind of person who just sits in their room all the time anyway, bu even so, it is nice to be able to eat your food out of your room.
