Hello Everyone,
I hope summer is keeping everyone in good spirit.
We are considering buying a home in London and was hoping that I could get some advise on that.
My DS will be starting a school near Westminster from September so we are looking for an area suitable for his commute by public transport.
My husband works in city and I am a SAHM.
After some research we have zeroed in on Fulham or West Hampstead.
We are new to London and our budget is 1.1M.
Can someone please share their experiences and perspective as a Londoner?
I am a quiet personality and like to read and prefer to have a small circle of friends. (not party person at all)
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts/feedback

Link fail - reposting!

Given that you have a few commutes to 'solve' for and it sounds like you care about being in a good neighbourhood, you may find this tool/website helpful. You can add in your commutes, select your priorities for your ideal neighbourhood, and let the system work some magic to find the homes across different areas that best meet your needs/budget. Maybe share some of your results with us for feedback?

Thank you so much @Thinkle , @minipie, @Liverbird77 , @ladybirdsarelovely33 and @sandybayley
I think I have a bit of work cut out for me. I will visit suggested areas during weekends. Two offers I placed near asking price were both rejected.
I think its going to take a bit of time.
Hopefully I will be able to come back to thread in 2019 to post pictures of my little nest somewhere in london :-)

@househunter19 Thank you for link. I tried and its super impressive. Some new choices I havent considered before. I might have missed it but it would have been great to filter only homes versus flats.

Sadly I doubt you'll get a house in Queens Park for £1.1m - I'd suggest Dollis Hill or Willesden Green if casting the net further than West Hampstead (again, suspect you wouldnt get a family house in West Hampstead for £1.1m). We lived in Queens Park for a decade and sold last year - houses under £1.1m generally need an awful lot of work to be done to them.

Of the 3 I think West Hampstead is the better option - more buses, options (Thameslink, overground, walk to Finchley Road for metropolitan line) for your husband and son commuting to the city. I hope all goes well with your search.
