Bifold doors in new house

House I've just had my offer accepted on has bi-fold doors across 2 walls of the extended kitchen/diner - are these secure or do I need to think about additional locks? Having been burgled last week I'm now hyper alert and planning way too far ahead Grin

Sorry about the burglary! They should be secure, but ask the vendor the age, brand and locking system (and I would check if they are under warranty while you’re at it). Then check the details with your insurers. Good luck Smile

Thanks JimmyJazz. I will be getting a locksmith in anyway to do the front door so will ask him Grin

I've got bifolds & they're multi-point locking all the way along. That & toughened glass, I reckon they're about as good as you're going to get. My neighbours saw a burglar having a go at their back door. He was walloping the glass with a cricket bat & it held firm!

Changing a lock is no more than 5 mins work for even the most novice DIYer, hiring a locksmith is like hiring an electrician to plug in your new microwave.

Scholesfan you haven't seen my attempts at DIY!!!!

SheffieldTablet thank you!! That is very reassuring - son's cricket bat is now living under my bed just in case anyone ever comes back to try and burgle me again.
