How do I fix this part of my bathroom ceiling? Pics

This is above my shower and the paint has cracked and started to come away. Do I just sand it then paint it? I'm clueless! It's literally only this corner so the rest of the ceiling just needs a coat of paint, hasn't been touched in years. Any ideas? (Can you tell I'm a DIY novice..)

Sand it, you may need to use a bit of fine filler to get a smooth finish before painting. You can do it!

Do you have an extractor fan / other means of ventilation? It looks like you've got a bit of mould, likely due to condensation (ours was like that but 10x worse when we bought our house as the bathroom window was jammed shut with no extractor). HG Mould spray is good - I'd probably use that on it to kill any growth before painting, and wear a mask when sanding so you don't inhale it.

Sand it down first then paint with either anti mould or anti condensation paint depending on the issue.

Question is why is it flaking and treat that. I bust a good anti flake paint when I’d finished sanding in my bathroom, then filled and painted and it looked great.

Bought not bust!

Thanks everyone. I'll give it a go and cross my fingers!

Oh and meant to add, it's mould but it's not been touched in years. There's a window beside so hopefully shouldn't be an issue in future.
