Which house?

Greggers2017 · 30/06/2019 12:31

Me and DP are looking to move to a bigger house. We have 4 children. DD 12, DSD 11 and DS 10 and a new baby.
We have found two houses we like and are unsure which would make the better family home.
This is the first house

And this is the second one

What's your opinions? Obviously we would put our own mark on it decoration wise.

I have no idea of the areas but I'd go for house 1 if it was a decent area and the children could play out.

House 1. The only downside is the kitchen, where you might end up in internal exile. Otherwise it wins hands down for space and flexibility.

AnthonyCrowley · 01/07/2019 12:43

Are you going to be working in Sheffield or outside?

House 1 is nearer/walking distance to the tram. Though the tram from crystal peaks takes for ever if going into the city centre.

I prefer the layout and character of house 1.

Though house 3 in Woodhouse which someone found is the best of the three.

Greggers2017 · 01/07/2019 16:12

I don't like the house in Woodhouse from the outside it just says meh to us. Me and DP both work in the centre but we drive in together.
I'm leaning more to number one now I think as I have made plans in my head for the outbuildings!

1 or 3

NotNowNinja · 01/07/2019 16:21

Definitely house 2 better space layout

ravepixie · 01/07/2019 16:43

House 1 looks amazing. V lovely outdoor space too.

UrsulaPandress · 01/07/2019 16:49

Number 1 for character and the fabulous outbuildings.

thebear1 · 01/07/2019 16:58

2 for the number of floors. The low ceilings of some of the rooms in 1 could effect how you can use them as well.

BackforGood · 01/07/2019 17:35

Another who has no idea about the area, but definitely prefer house 1, just going on the photos and floorplan.

Greggers2017 · 01/07/2019 19:13

We currently rent a 3 storey house and it does work very well for us. So many things to consider

Def 1 for me.

LoveMyNewHome · 02/07/2019 01:10

Hands down between house 2 & 3. House 1 is far too angular & eavsey for my taste. Probably be high on maintenance too. Depends on what you like though.

ineedtostopbeingsolazy · 02/07/2019 01:34

I first misread house 1 as being in Brighton!

Really like house 1 don't really like house house 2 so much however the layout downstairs in house 1 isn't what I'd look for, I'd be looking to knock the wall between the kitchen and dining room down.

MoanyAnna · 02/07/2019 02:12

House 1

passthestraws · 02/07/2019 02:19

House 1 - the downstairs and 2 stories of 2 is more practical and I love the kitchen diner, but the extra outbuildings/cellar and bathroom swing it to house 1 for me.

Peachbubble · 02/07/2019 08:55

House no 1

HappydaysArehere · 02/07/2019 09:29

What are the areas like? Does one have more open spaces, bus stops, schools, doctors, station access than the other? What shops are there? Are they near or do you have to get into a car to reach them. I am talking about everyday needs. Restaurants?

.

Greggers2017 · 02/07/2019 16:10

There's plenty of green spaces close by to both houses. Rother Valley country park is a lovely day out. They have lots of different things on throughout the year.
House 1 is close to Crystal Peaks which is a good place to shop and there are some good restaurants.
