Moving: Ikea blue bags or better?

Hi all,
we are (Hopefully!!) moving soon and I've just started sorting out and stressing our garage. I got a few ikea blue bags but will need more to organize stuff. Nearest ikea is about 30 mins drive. Wondering if anyone has ideas if there any equivalent cheap bags anywhere else? Supermarket bags are much smaller - arent they?

I'm also trying to get boxes from supermarkets, no luck anywhere yet. hate to spend ££ on cardboard boxes

Sports direct bags are better

The beauty of boxes sealed shut with tape is that they stack, securely and in any order. It makes a world of difference to managing the whole packing process if you have a load of standard size boxes and can pile them 4 or 5 high in any order, in the house or van. If you have a local FB community page, people often give them for free when people ask.

Are you going to use a removal firm? If so, they will usually provide boxes. If you are going down the removal company route, pay for packing. It's not much more in the scheme of things and makes moving far less stressful. You can then work on decluttering before moving day.

Those plastic fabric launderette checked bags are large and good for towels, cushions, clothes, etc. I've just bought 4 from our cheapy shop for £2.50 each.

You can order the ikea bags from Ebay, I paid £17 for 10 of them last time I moved. I do find them handy for things like fabrics, books which would be too heavy in a box, etc.

Thanks all. We'll be using a removals firm for full package and move service. I'm only clearing out my garage this week, it has been used like a skip all along throwing out stuff we wont need and organising stuff into bags/boxes. We'll get boxes from the movers company anyway. They can quickly put the things into boxes if needed then.

I bought a load of zip up bags (white with blue/pink check, handles and zip) to clear a load of my parents stuff to charity shop.

Easy to load, carry , you could stack them.
They bloody stink !
Plastic-ey odd smell, not dirty or musty , but I wouldn't buy clothes stored in them.
Ok for household things

Pop to your local McDonald's as I've had loads of boxes from them!! X

I love Ikea bags. They are brilliant for irregular sized things the garage is full of, where a lot of space would be wasted in a box.

I got 15 Ikea bags for £15 pounds on amazon. It worked out cheaper in time/petrol than going to ikea!
