Can you find me a London pad?

This is half-hypothetical as it's more of a medium-term plan for us. However, I know many people on here like to browse Rightmove and I'd like to start getting ideas.

So, the budget is roughly 1M, 3-bed preferred but a spacious 2-bed could also work. Needs to be in a pleasant area and convenient for going out in central London.

I think you could get a great 3 bed house IN Wandsworth for the 1m price, and it's a great are!

For 2 bed flat option, Notting Hill could be a great shout. My aunt has a 2 bed flat there that is used for when the family are staying in London (they are based in Germany). It's really lovely

@dodgeballchamp That's a bit unfair, OP has just shared her preferences and it's not been in a rude manner.

Also if her family are in a position to give their children certain privileges then why shouldn't she? That's not something to be criticised and I'm sure lots of parents would do the same if they have the opportunity to.

So not wanting to be above a takeaway/in a basement/ugly block is now snobbery? Hmm Hmm Hmm

And when did rowing become an expensive sport? It definitely wasn't in our days. I can't see what's wrong with wanting your children to have the opportunity to start the day with getting exercise on the river.

Of course it’s snobbery! What else is it? Judging the way somewhere looks, insinuating it’s beneath you to live in such circumstances. At least own being a snob!

i don’t think it’s snobbery. I do think to be able to judge the look of somewhere/not want to live above a takeaway is a privilege not everyone has. If you are able to then you will. That’s not even close to ‘snobbery’ surely. ??

Insinuating something is lesser because of the way it looks is snobbery imo.

Dodgeballchamp, we're interested in architecture and interiors and living in an ugly building would bother us. And anyway, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Speaking of blocks, some people find brutalist architecture fugly, others find it fab. Go figure.
Tbh, though, now that we've though about it, we'll go for a small house to avoid any leasehold issues.
