Budget for kitchen revamp

I'd like to revamp our kitchen ahead of selling our flat in a year and a half. It is in a London flat and is absolutely miniscule. I would like to:

-replace the worktops
-paint the walls and ceiling and replace the tiles
-replace the flooring

I am crap with DIY (hate it). What is a reasonable budget?!

Well weve just bought a 4m, and 2 x 2m worktops solid oak for £500.

Paint and tile depends what you pick I guess x

We just spruced our kitchen for £800. We remived he breakfast bar, painted the cupboards, swapped handles, replaced the worktop with solid wood ones, swapped the sink and tap, regrouted (rather badly), swapped light fittings and then paid someone to fit vinyl flooring

Ooh @Neet90 can you elaborate on how you painted cupboard doors? Are they solid wood or melamine, vinyl wrapped etc?

We had dark oak 80s/90s cupboard doors and the carcasses were melamine. We used v33 from b and q and followed the instructions. Our kitchen is totally transformed, it was pretty rough before so we had nothing to lose and the kitchen quotes we were getting were well into double figures.

The materials you could possibly get for £400 or less (depends on the exact amounts of stuff). However, labour will cost at least a good few hundred (if you find a reasonable local handy man).
