And by loveliest I (personally) mean - strong, friendly sense of community, access to green spaces, villagey shops, safe vibe...

Thank you all!! Ringing estate agents, and planning some weekend Airbnb to check them out. Kind of excited at the move, helping to dull the slight sadness of leaving this wonderful house. Anyone looking to move out to Hampshire w pony chicken garden dogs cats and whatever dream???? No neighbours, excellent commuting from Basingstoke! Let me know. I've got one offer coming in and another very interested family.

Thanks again all Smile

Any of the expensive ‘village’ areas if you have primary aged children so you can integrate quickly and easily.

West Wickham

Wow love all these very varied responses!

For those voting for Primrose Hill, what’s the demographic like? One of my favourite areas - that I’ve visited - on the list.

A move to West London puts me too far away from family, so discounting those places though interesting to hear about all the lovely ‘hoods around there. (I am a big fan of Kew Gardens!)

I love Muswell Hill. Can walk to ally pally, Highgate Woods, crouch end. Hampstead Heath. Good schools. Lovely community feel. Restaurants are varied.

East Dulwich is very “nappy valley”. I don’t think it’s what you’re after but you’ll probably struggle with your budget to find somewhere more central with a garden and near a park.

Southfields in Wandsworth. Great community, leafy and fab transport links.

I've recently made friends with a woman who's lived abroad for many years and has moved back to London. She was so worried about being isolated and having no friends however, she's just said she's exhausted from all the socialising she's doing and is happy in a way she couldn't have imagined.

Primrose Hill demographic is a real mix. There are older people who have lived here for decades, but there are loads of young families. It is wealthy (obviously) but not flashy. Smattering of celebs. Real community feel. Incredibly dog friendly (only two or three shops/cafes that don’t allow dogs that I can think of). The park is beautiful. Very active community centre with talks by the likes of Andrew Marr (a local) and charity events. The village is a good size, no chains, feels more village like than Hampstead and St Johns Wood which are bigger and busier, more town like.

Beckenham! According to the news today we have a thriving high street and the local
Fb page is full of stuff to do. Bromley is also the greenest borough so plenty of parks. And for £1.5m you'll live in the nicest 3 bed ever!!!! It's 20 mins from London on the train. The traffic is ok too.

I agree with PP that East Dulwich is perfect for you @Kaelle

It's really not as "nappy valley" as it used to be! A lot of them have grown up & moved out.

There's still plenty of single 50somethings around.

You've got beautiful Peckham Rye park and Dulwich park on your doorstep, dog friendly places and neighbouring Peckham is trendy now so the kids have somewhere to go out.

North London is best! Go for a wander round Gospel Oak and Tufnell Park. Close to lots of parks, good transport links and very friendly.

Bloomsbury.
