How many viewings in first week

Just wondered how many viewings you had in the first week. We’ve had just 1 viewing with no offer and another coming up this weekend since the house was put up on Monday.

Also if you had a slow first week did things pick up? Or does a slow first week indicate it’s going to take some time..

I have sold 5 houses before my current one and each time the agents seemed to wheel out "Rent-A-Viewer" for the first couple of weeks and we ended up with 5 or 6 then nothing for ages!! With my current house, I'm hoping to ask for only people who can proceed to view which I'm sure will cut down the viewings immediately!!

We have been on for 3 weeks and had 2 viewings. Did start off over priced though, so have dropped 10%. Hoped that would kick start things but it hasn't. I think the market is just very slow round here just now.

Depends how desirable your house is really... if it's a standard 3 bed semi well priced in a high turnover area then 2 a week is very low and would indicate the price is too high.
If it's a character cottage in a very small village with very low turnover then 2 a week is good

I think there's so many variables on this. We're currently in the process. Signed estate agency agreement and had photos taken last Friday, was on Rightmove on Tuesday. We had 5 viewings by Thursday (3 before it went on Rightmove), and went to sealed bids yesterday. Have literally just accepted an offer at £10k over the asking price. We can't quite believe it - we knew we'd priced quite low as there's a house we want to buy, so needed to get a move on, but I don't think we expected it to go this fast! We're now negotiating with our vendors trying to settle on a price. Looks like we may be moving 😳.

So, in our favour: house well presented, nothing else on the market in this price bracket in our village, central village location, good family house with room to grow (5 beds). The people buying are basically who we were when we bought it 13 years ago - 1 toddler with a probable growing family.

House went on last week with 2 agents!

2 viewings last week
2 viewings this week

2 offers this morning for full asking price 🤷‍♀️ we have decided to take one of them.

3 viewings booked on Saturday which have now been cancelled.

4 viewings booked as soon as we went online. First viewed less than 24 hours later and bought for asking price

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 11/06/2019 23:52

I've been on for 8 weeks and had 1 viewing.

I know it isn't overpriced and it is driving me demented!

Six viewings first week, two viewings second week followed by same two couples doing second viewings. Accepted proceedable offer £5k under asking price. Competitively priced cottage in a country village.

We went on the market on saturday, 2 bed terrace in a satellite town. monday morning EA called and 4 viewings were booked in for this week. the first one cash buyer came monday night but despite her keenness to get in we’ve not had any feedback from them Hmm another cancelled at the last minute last night and two still to come. seems like a pretty good start I think?

madcatladyforever · 12/06/2019 07:22

I've been on for 2 weeks, had 10 viewings and sold Shock just a modest 1930's house.
The thing is I put it on way before I wanted to move because I thought it would take about a year and I'm not ready to move!!!

Menarefrommars - can you give us a few details about your house - someone on here might be able to give you their views, which might be of help.
