Re painting small upstairs and downstairs WC

Hi there, any ideas on what colour I should paint a small upstairs and downstairs WC. It has a black and white tiled floor so I think colours would clash.
I was thinking Dulux Timless or Jasmine white with white ceilings and woodwork.

If you want "white-ish" it's just a question of testing it next to the white tiles you have. Your tiles are unlikely to be pure brilliant white, and the wrong white paint will make either the tiles or the wall look dirty. Try Timeless and Jasmine white first and learn from that if you need to go "whiter" or more creamy.

Personally I think you can put any colour with black and white, but factor in colour of towels and bathmats too. We currently have pale grey walls with our black and white tiles but bright, jewel coloured towels.

I think a white shade is more likely to 'clash' with a black & white floor and could be tricky to get right with the other whites in the room. I'd go with a colour you like. I think the floor is pretty neutral and would complement most colours.

I'm a huge fan of Dulux timeless, it's in a lot of my house but I wasn't keen on it in my downstairs toilet or the family bathroom. It looked a bit blah.
The I've painted the downstairs loo pink and the bathroom upstairs a bright green. I'm really pleased with them.

My friends downstairs toilet is mustard with a black and white floor, it looks amazing.

I would look at something like Mizzle by F&B. It wouldn’t clash and makes a small room look spacious. I think any colour except yellowish creamy ones. Or peachy whites! Black and white is very classic so any colour goes well! It depends whether you favour darker hues or want to keep it pale. I think dark colours such as jade or aubergine can look amazing with the right accessories.

Thank you for all your messages.
Now I’m thinking maybe a pale grey, has anyone used Dulux Rock Salt?

No. Wevet by F&B really lightens up a room. It’s a bit of a boring choice for what could be a fun room!!

If you go extremely pale grey then you have a similar problem to the white - it's too similar to the white tiles and either the grey will look like dirty white, or the tiles will look yellowy and just not go. Whether rock salt is pale enough to have this effect depends on your lighting and tiles. You just have to try it.

We have twice repainted our upstairs and downstairs bathrooms' walls, both which have back and white tiles. Both times we actually picked different shades of paint for the 2 rooms to end up with a similar effect in both, because the light was so different.

Frosted steel was awful here, it was far too blue and clashed weirdly with the tiles. Chic Shadow was fine downstairs where there was little natural light, but looked too beige upstairs in a bright room.
