I think it might depend on where you live? Local authority, conservation area etc. Will you be overlooking neighbours?

Not overlooking neighbours and not in conservation area. Have applied for a certificate of lawful planning as advised by our architect. The house has previously had permission for dormers. But if they say we need planning that can delay things by another 8 weeks?

We have a cabrio velux that we put in under permitted development (with a certificate of lawfulness, but you don’t actually need one of those until you sell - we did it for peace of mind). It’s great Smile

Hello,

Also looking at installing two cabrio balconies at the front of the property. We are submitting it with planning which all falls within permitted. Not in a conservation area, but still worried. We have open views to the front so won't impact on others. Did you end up installing @chopc?
@JimmyJazz are yours front or back.

Thanks
