B&Q air con/dehumidifier help please?

I have a mobile air conditioner unit which is also a dehumidifier. The instructions are find for the air con part but when it comes to the dehumidifier part they are non-existent. All it says is 'When using it as a dehumidifier do not connect the exhaust hose. Let the warm air return to the room. Continuous drainage is then necessary'

There is a little rubber plug at the back, however I have no idea how to use it in dehumidify mode, or what I am supposed to do about continous drainage.

The unit has just been serviced/cleaned as it was smelling and I don't want to cause it to pong again.

Does anyone have one of these or know about this one? It is like this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Portable-Air-Conditioner-WAP-267EC-9000-BTU-Mobile-Air-Cooling-B-Q/163704331004?hash=item261d89dafc:g:ZOcAAOSw9kxc0Dv~

@PigletJohn please?

dehumidifiers usually have a water-collection bucket inside, that you remove for emptying by sliding out or opening a door, or else a hose that you run to a convenient drain. The large ones have a pump to squirt it through the hose. It is very important to route the hose so it can't be dislodged and run water onto the floor.

If the instructions are no help, try the manufacturer or vendor's help desk.

Thank you.

I thought maybe someone would know about these things.

Why on earth they would not include it in the instructions is beyond me.

You might be lucky, and another owner chips in.

Standalone dehumidifiers do indeed have large, usually removable buckets. Portable airconditioners like this one tend to have an internal tank which is emptied by removing the plug and allowing the water to run out into a specially designed tray. Continuous drainage would be connecting a hose to where the plug is.

Portable airconditioners tend not to be used extensively without someone around, so having to empty the (small) internal tank regularly is not too much of an issue. However, people tend to leave dehumidifiers running for long periods of time unattended, hence the thing about continuous drainage.

Most of the stand alone dehumidifiers cut out when the bucket gets too full. At least my mum's does, and it's not her first.

Thank you everyone.

I just need to work out how to drain it now. The little rubber plug thing is very low to the ground.

There should be a tray, about 3cm deep with a lip to allow you to drain it:

You'll need to tip the AC backwards slightly to get the last few drops out.

It didn't come with anything, no window block things, no tray, only the big pipe thing. I have tried to find things that fit before, not knowing how much would come out hasn't helped - will have to have another look, thank you.
