I’ve tried cleaning them but they are a dingy cream & my front door is white which makes them look even worse.

Ah thank you, can you use water based eggshell? The front is north facing and I don’t want to be re-painting every time they go yellow.

You can buy replacement doors. Painting old doors can be a bit hit or miss. We've tried in an old rental house we used to own and the end result wasn't great so we ended up replacing them.

I don't think water based will stick.

Consider a darker colour to tone with the brick.

Round here they like dark brown.

Would a spray on plastic paint work?.

I suppose I could use black at a push.

using a spraygun outside, it will drift everywhere in the wind, and you will get it on the wall, and on nearby cars ande windows.

The non-drip paint is easy with a brush.

Sunlight stops oil based paint going yellow so it would be ok outside. It's inside without light that it goes yellow.

They’re in a sort of brick vestibule so they don’t get much light.

I painted mine to match the front door but still hated it so have grown a shrub in front of it. The house is old and listed and a plastic box stuck on the front wall is very out of place.

I still think that a dark colour toning with the brick is less ugly.

In our last house we painted ours with the same (blue) gloss as the windowsills. In our current house it's the same colour (black) as the band around the bottom of the render. Personally I think (almost) any paint, and (almost any) colour is better than sun-wrecked plastic.
