Your best methods to get those leftover bits of ivy off a brick wall?

I'm taking out a giant ivy because it's just too much to control any more these days. I have one patch near the main stem that looks like it'll be particularly hard to remove - it's those suckery tiny finger things. The wall is in excellent condition, ivy aside. What are the best ways to tackle the leftover bits? I don't want to wait a year or three to watch it weather-off. For reference, the wall is north facing. Do you think a jet-wash would be ok? I'm also wondering about sandpaper but obviously would have to be careful. The bricks are not soft.

I've used a wall paper scraper in the past but try a power washer on lowest setting maybe? Patch test first?

I used a wall paper scraper too!

A proper bristle scrubbing brush

Sand paper is fine - we used an electric sander actually for the really hard bits!

I cut all the stems near the ground, and dabbed the cut ends with glyphosate gel.

The pieces adhering to the wall, I cut all the stems that were the size of a finger or bigger, and pulled off all the loose stuff. The rest I left in place. It withered, turned brown and decayed. it has now fallen off, probably rotted away. This may have taken a while.

if I see any green bits trying to grow, I cut the stems and dab them again.

I left it to die back for a year, then it just pulled off. ( it pulled off like wall paper and was very satisfying) then I pressure washed and swept with a garden brush. Most of the bits came off, for the top section I hung out of the window and brushed.

I think you need to careful as it can irritate skin and breathing.

I used a wire brush, worked really well.
