Hello all,

I'm just planning the next phase of our restoration with the builder and it includes the new kitchen. To complete the design he wants me to choose a range. I've looked at reviews and ask around, but got totally bogged down. I'm trying to get something that looks good, works well and doesn't break the bank.

For context, we going for a bespoke shaker style. Prob light grey with light quartz work tops and brass handles (parquet lvt flooring).

I've heard good things about the Stoves Sterling. I just want to hear personal recommendations I suppose!

I bought a Stoves Richmond range cooker in 2013. It was the best by far at the time. It has 4 ovens. [The grill is also an oven.]
Some range cookers only have two ovens - plus a grill and a metal storage drawer.
I would certainly recommend Stoves.

We have a Stoves Sterling electric induction range and I love it. It has three ovens - the smallest is a slow cooker - and a separate grill. The hob is brilliant.

I originally had my heart set on a Rangemaster but the grill is really shallow and the pan is attached so it can't be pulled out completely and it put me off. Instead we got a seven-ring, two oven, removable grill Belling and I love it.

Thank you everyone! @wowfudge -sounds great. Thanks for reassurance on Stoves @redwoodmazza

I have a Belling range cooker too which I love. It is 3 years old now. I love the timer which means I can put meat in the oven before I leave for work then set the timer and have a roast ready for when I get home!

I got mine refurbished on ebay by the way - it was 30% cheaper than buying new. It looked brand new when it arrived.

I am also in the middle of a kitchen/extension reno, and have just had my Belling DFT Sandringham (in silver) fitted, its been in 2 weeks now and i would highly recommend it, the 2 ovens are a really good size. The timers are really handy but it’s the speed of the cooking that’s really sold it for me, everything just cooks so evenly and fast! (Ps- just a buying tip, range coolers are now being sold on boots online, I bought mine off there and got £50 worth of boots points)

I've had a Rangemaster dual fuel for a few years, and when we have the kitchen redone we are not keeping it. My opinion is they are made to look good , but function wise ,they don't live up to expectations.

Trippedupagain · 26/05/2019 07:48

I bought a Smeg stainless steel because it has a full size oven with a smaller one alongside. I didn't want all smaller ovens which some seem to have. It has 6 has rings and electric ovens. It feels a bit tinny to use though, and the knobs feel flimsy so overall although I love the look of it and the size of everything on it, I'm not sure I'd buy one again.

I have a Rangemaster duel fuel and I love it.

Nanasueathome · 26/05/2019 08:13

I’ve got a Rangemaster Classic, dual fuel, and love it

stucknoue · 26/05/2019 08:24

We have the rangemaster Toledo 1100 (quite old now) the key decision is width, many don't allow full width pans, mine are full sized ovens, mum (900 wide) has a narrow oven and a full size which I think is weird. What width are you allowing for? If under 1100 you will be having to compromise on oven size.

stucknoue · 26/05/2019 08:25

Ours is gas btw, hate electric, too long to heat up

Northumberlandlass · 26/05/2019 08:26

I have a Rangemaster Duel Fuel Excel 110 & we absolutely love it!

Bluesheep8 · 26/05/2019 08:53

Rangemaster Toledo here, 5 burners. was left by previous owners. It's fine. Grill pan comes all the way out too.

Imicola · 26/05/2019 09:50

Range master dual fuel. We got it last year and I love it. Oven temperature is spot on in both ovens, looks good, nicely sized ovens. No complaints whatsoever.

I have a smeg range which I want to replace. I hate the second small oven which is very narrow and basically useless-can’t even get a dinner plate in it!! Also the sound of the cooling fan, which runs after the either oven is switchedoff drives me crazy. I’m thinking of a Rangemaster 110 cms to get a proper second oven but have read how noisy their fans are too. Any advice ?
