just moved house and took our machine (miele) with us.
we took care to adjust the feet but it feels like a helicopter is landing on the roof.
what can we do?
(wooden beams in a victorian conversion, 2nd floor up)

Rubber matting?

ASauvignonADay · 28/04/2019 12:30

Mine is the same. I'm actually worried it is going to damage the floor!

Is it completely level?

greenelephantscarf · 28/04/2019 12:34

thanks, will have a look at the mat.

yes, it's completely level, just when the spin starts and stops it's really bad.

The mat looks good!

How do you get it under the washing machine - mine belonged to the old owners and I've no idea how heavy it is or what plumbing is behind it! Is it as simple as pulling washing machine forward, placing mat down then getting WM back on top? (Sorry, not meaning to hijack your thread!)

I had this. I phoned the insurance as it was in warranty. I bought the extended warranty, they sent a repair man who fixed it! The extended warranty meant that if he said the damage was due to the move it was still covered, as the extended warranty covers accidental damage.

greenelephantscarf · 28/04/2019 15:41

the machine is out of warranty I think. plus we moved to forreign...

but yes, maybe I should get a repair person to have a look.

There are brackets that get put on washing machines when moving to keep the drum stable. Do you know if these were put on before the journey?

From Google

There are shipping bolts installed at the factory (or by movers) to prevent the washer's tub from moving during shipping. You must remove the shipping bolts to prevent excessive vibration during operation. The specific location and number of shipping bolts varies by model, but is always on the back of the washer.

greenelephantscarf · 28/04/2019 16:54

hmm, will have a look. I remember the movers putting in the shipping bolts but wasn't there when it was put in the cupboard

they must be taken out when it is reinstalled.

greenelephantscarf · 28/04/2019 17:14

bolts are out (were in the shelf next to the machine) and I have dived head first looked behind the machine to make sure no bolts are stuck
