It reminds me too much of my ex in laws house. Plus there is too much beige, cream, brown and pine for me

PtolemyTalks · 28/04/2019 07:40

Haven’t got there yet....needing to organise s long weekend over there with a shortlist.

all the walls are brick so knocking through would be proper knocking through. It was one house with extension built either side. All well done, very solid. A friend has been round it.

The plot is great but North east facing garden. Lovely sun in the back in the morning apparently...

I can’t see beyond the blandness and the front.

I like it. I guess it all comes down to how much work you want to do. You have to see past the current blandness and imagine it with your own stamp on it. I would rip out and replace all the carpets, redecorate everywhere, put in a new kitchen and new bathrooms (those tiles are awful).

We tend to go for houses that need work. My husband always says that he's lucky we can both see past the work that needs doing and imagine a house done to our preference. So many people can't do that or don't want to do the work.

OhTheRoses · 28/04/2019 08:16

Much of it is a bad camera lens.
Sitting room needs two sofas facing each other either side of fireplace.

The actual measurements don't read too long and narrow.

Fab potential.

Youngandfree · 28/04/2019 08:20

It’s quite dated, it needs a complete overhaul imo.

FookMeFookYou · 28/04/2019 08:21

It look lifeless and cold, I couldn't live there. I think it would be hard work thin got make it homely. And the porch with oversized columns is really tasteless imo

FookMeFookYou · 28/04/2019 08:21

*trying to make it

I thought the downstairs rooms looked a bit like corridors but you can change that with careful positioning of furniture.

Upstairs it looks like the only bathroom is a jack and jill bathroom with the family bathroom actually being a shower room so I'd want to know if that could be changed.

This is another option...the driveway looks expensive to sort...

You couldn't pay me to live that close to Quarter Bridge either. It's an awful awful junction and you'd be completely stuck in/locked out during practice and racing.

brizzlemint · 28/04/2019 15:31

That Cronk Gennal house is a mess, why didn't they declutter first? It makes me think there isn't enough storage space just like my house

Oblomov19 · 28/04/2019 15:38

Horrible. 5 bedrooms? Really? The layout of the lounge is not nice. The long thin kitchen is not good. It would need a lot of work doing to it, to make it work.

PickAChew · 28/04/2019 15:42

The cronk gennal house is lovely. Hopefully they'd take that mess with them.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 28/04/2019 15:43

Gosh, you are all very picky! I think that's a nice enough house, with a bit of updating.

SwedishEdith · 28/04/2019 15:50

I like that 2nd house. Well, I'd definitely view it. Love the way the owners have barely tidied it Grin. I'd get rid of that weird table in the kitchen. But, it could be good.

MayFayner · 28/04/2019 16:08

The second house, by a mile.

I wonder what’s going on there, though. They want to sell enough that they’ve reduced the price, but on the other hand they didn’t bother tidying for the photos Confused

Seems a bit weird.

PtolemyTalks · 28/04/2019 16:55

Friend went to view the second house and said it was very cluttered so made it hard to view....but she reckons I should add i5 to the list. She saw it a while ago so maybe they’ve decluttered. ?.or got more clutter?

It’s outside the TT course, so you can get out...

I really like the second one.. Maybe the first one is better in real life.

TheVanguardSix · 30/04/2019 17:59

Second house is great! The thing about the second house too is that you could actually live with it as it is, if you wish to just save your pennies and not refurbish. It's a lovely house!

ravenshope · 30/04/2019 21:49

Looks good to me, and an excellent size.

fikel · 30/04/2019 21:55

it’s fab it’s got great potential, the floor plan will help with what you could do with it. An architect could really help transform it.

Nesssie · 01/05/2019 15:43

I think the first one is nicer. The carpets can be changed and furniture updated. the rooms are all a nice size except the kitchen is long and thin but maybe you can knock through (need a floor plan). Garden is nice size.

Second house doesn't appeal to me. Driveway potential is nice but the levelled garden and sloping roof in the bedroom puts me off. Big kitchen and bathroom though.

Bikken · 01/05/2019 23:24

I think you need a cheap kitchen makeover and some space changes. Read some articles, for example this one about 7 simple design tips to sell your house quicker tranio.com/articles/7-simple-design-tips-to-sell-your-house-quicker/, the plan they offer is suitable to you.
Use Pinterest, really, they have tons of ideas of interior makeovers
