Gravity fed hot water & pumped shower

We are looking to replace our en-suite which currently has a mixer shower fed by a gravity fed hot water tank. The pressure is pants according to me

I want a pumped shower but Dh is concerned it will drain both the cold water tank in the loft and the hot water tank too so there will only be enough water for 1 shower. We are looking at the Mira Platinum digital mixer which does allow you to turn the flow rate down.

Our cold water tank is the minimum size recommended and we have a 4 bed house so our hot water tank is large (house built 20 years ago.) The children have their own bathroom which has an electric shower. All our taps are mains pressure cold so nothing is drawing off the cold water tank except the en-suite shower. Nothing draws off the hot water tank either, I have a boiling water tank in the kitchen and use that if I need to fill the sink.

My question is, do you have a pumped shower on a gravity feed and does it eat water? Is Dh right that it will only serve 1 shower before needing to refill the entire hot water tank again and heat it?

the hot and the cold supplies will both need to be tank fed. So you will need a new cold pipe to the loft.

You will want about 12 litres per minute. 20 if you are profligate.

What size is your cylinder, and your tank?

When you fill the bath, how many litres per minute does the hot tap deliver? Fill a bucket and time it.

Does a hot bath use all the hot water?

You can get a bigger loft tank.

Thank you PigletJohn, I will fill a bucket tomorrow and get some figures on what you have said. The bath definitely doesn't take all the hot water from the tank and I will do some measuring up.
