Climbing plants

Our house has zero character but we’ve got a bit of cash now so we’re going to make improvements.

I’m adding a porch which will have a pitch to match our roof (the front is gable ended) and want to add some climbing plants.

Can someone tell me what the greenery is in this pic? Obv the rhs is wisteria but what’s on the lhs?

How do I maintain climbing plants?

Any advice welcome/appreciated.

I think climbers look best when they fit well with the age of the house, so Wisteria with a georgian/victorian house, roses look good with older houses or cottages.
Do you have a pic of your facade OP and we can advise?
The best climber for walls is Tracehlospermum IMO, its evergreen, grows well from the base and has lovely scented flowers through summer.
It needs wires for support.

You can have certain smaller climbers in a large pot. But it's lot more work to feed and water them.

Large pots and irrigation systems are very expensive, whereas plants in the ground are very cheap.

Why can’t you dig up some of the concrete ?
