Estate agents fee- fair?

Hi, I have recently sold my house to my tenants, it has nearly completed now.
I used the same agent to sell as the lettings agent I used to rent my house out to the tenant.
My question is- the estate agents charge £1900 to sell the property for you. Is it fair I pay the full £1900 when they never had to list the property online, do a brochure, do any viewings etc? They did find the tenants for me- therefore they did technically find the buyer.
I hope this makes sense! If anyone has experience of this, let me know. It is my only property by the way, I rented it out when I had to move to support an elderly relative for a couple of years.

Not sure why it would be unfair. The agent can't choose who you sell to - letting them advertise it gives you a chance to find a higher offer.

You could have asked them yourself first, and saved agency fees.

I expect it's in the terms and conditions of your agreement with them when arranging the let. I know mine was. It's like giving them money for nothing.

Yes it probably is fair then. I looked on the mortgage advice bureau and they suggested trying to negotiate a discount.

Did you sign a contract for sale or was there something in the contract you had for rental that stated about sale to tenants. If their charges are in line with what is the contract then really I don't think you can ask.
If you had no contract go for it.

This is probably something you should have negotiated with the in advance, did they not give you a quote for their fee?
