Electric shower to combi boiler fed - a lot of faff to switch?

Has anyone changed an electric shower to one that is fed from the boiler?

Is it an expensive job? A lot of faff?

We changed the separate taps on the bath to a modern mixer with shower attachment thing.

Removal of the old electric shower was simple too, disconnect at consumer unit and cap off the cold water feed.

should be a fairly easy plumbing job if the shower is in the same room as the bath, and the bath tap is fed with a hot water pipe from the combi boiler.

In this case pipes are often concealed under the bath

I had it done and it was easy / not very expensive as the boiler (system boiler not combi boiler) was in the next room to the shower. Had to have pipework running on top of the tiles as I didn’t want to completely retile but it was fine as they’re now hidden by other things. I also looked into changing an upstairs electric shower but that involved more faff of running the pipes through a wardrobe and was a lot more expensive so I didn’t bother.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like it's not as big an ordeal as I thought.

If you find your current shower annoying and unsatisfying and yearn for a proper full strength shower then yes it’s absolutely worth it.
