And where do you live?

OP posts:
Floatingfancy · 24/04/2019 07:25

SE London and we sold our place for the asking price within 2 weeks.

Alexalee · 24/04/2019 07:50

You must have been on at a reasonable price floating! What postcode and type of property if you dont mind?

MrsPatmore · 24/04/2019 08:01

SE London, Zone 3 sold for 6% under and bought further out in Zone 4/5 London border for 6% under asking. Houses in both areas hanging around for 2-3 months.

MsMarvellous · 24/04/2019 08:01

North East England. Our little pocket has seen prices rising and shows no signs of dropping. Two friends sold within a week recently at solid level asking prices. Crazy.

Floatingfancy · 24/04/2019 08:17

SE13, 2 bed flat, 375k.

Imicola · 24/04/2019 10:19

Glasgow West end, most going to a closing date within a couple of weeks and selling above valuation (sometimes significantly above). Bit if a bubble.

Lost5stone · 24/04/2019 10:22

South (kind of central south). We've had our flat on since Feb and only had 2 viewings, no offers. Had a couple of agents in who said it's not really the price, no-one has sold a flat in 6 months!

Penguinpandarabbit · 24/04/2019 10:29

Going on market in couple of months close to outer London. Prices seem to be holding up but sales seem very low.

lboogy · 24/04/2019 10:39

I think if your property is priced right and there's little to do then you'll sell. We returned our house 4 years ago. Sold it in 2 weeks. I'm now desperately searching and I'm finding a lot of landlords are selling up but not being realistic about prices. I'm not seeing many owner occupiers

The houses that are probate or haven't been touched in 30-40 years also go quickly

In on west London

lboogy · 24/04/2019 10:39

Returned = refurbished

Jem01 · 24/04/2019 10:51

Similar to @MrsPatmore about 5% under asking price in both selling and buying in SE London. I've noticed recently that more properties in our area are up for sale/currently under offer. I wonder if the Brexit extension to October has made a difference..

Floatingfancy · 24/04/2019 11:26

TBH I'm not shocked a lot of places in London aren't selling, they are absurdly priced and people are greedy.

A flat round the corner from mine, similar in size has been on the market at 450 for eight months now. Owners refuse to lower the price.

lastqueenofscotland · 24/04/2019 11:37

Manchester it’s skyrocketing still

EL8888 · 24/04/2019 11:39

Essex and prices are lowering slightly.

Redshoeblueshoe · 24/04/2019 11:44

Lastqueen I was just about to say that.
Massive increases and selling fast

jackparlabane · 24/04/2019 11:59

Inner London, and not much is moving. Lots of landlords selling up. Friends place isn't shifting even though a year ago it would have been snapped up.

Yeahyeahyeahyeeeeah · 24/04/2019 20:26

Sold at 87% of asking, bought for the same. People are not realistic. We had found our dream home and kept chopping our price until someone took it.

SinkyMalinks · 24/04/2019 20:34

Agree with lastqueenofscotland - Manchester is still crazy - asking price or over and going quickly - before you can book a viewing if you’re not quick.

cazinge · 24/04/2019 21:21

Where we live seems similar to Manchester. Small commuter town in Midlands, South of Birmingham. Sold in 5 days for 4% over the offers over price. Bought for 1% over the offers over price the day it went on the market. Had several viewings cancelled as the vendor had already accepted an offer. Crazy times.

bebeboeuf · 24/04/2019 22:43

Very slight drop in Hertfordshire a property for 375 might now be 360

Alexalee · 25/04/2019 07:29

Landlord type properties ie purpose built or marionette 2 bed flats in my part of se London were 300-325 a year ago, now 250-275

Alexalee · 25/04/2019 07:30

Marionette = maisonette

Neron · 25/04/2019 07:44

SE - good conditioned properties with realistic prices are still selling. The overpriced isn't being touched. Some price reductions, interesting seeing previously sold properties coming back on to the market though.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 26/04/2019 19:20

Decent houses where we live (coastal, North West) are selling for fun. There's a real feel good factor about the town after years of negativity and nothingness. It's definitely on the up!

Ellieboolou27 · 26/04/2019 22:08

North London - selling is slow! We have a flat though and it’s only a one bed, 30k lower than last years asking prices

Hertfordshire - lots going up for sale but reducing the asking price after a month or so, I’m desperate to sell our flat so we can stop renting
