What's Seven Sisters like? Where to buy in North?

I am looking to buy a 2 bed somewhere North with good transport links into central, budget around 430-480k.

What areas are nice? have good transport links? Relatively safe?

In N London? SS is horrible! I live quite nearby but always avoid going there if I can, although sometimes when there's engineering works it's the easiest way - there's always some sort of scary incident if it's night time. Properly, properly hate it.

Yeh apologies, should have made it clearer - N London

Stokey is lovely - we got a 2 bed here for 490
I still wouldn't say it's safe though, so many stabbings at the moment Sad

I agree Stokey better than SS. I live in Stokey now and suprised to hear PP say it isn't safe?

I got my 3bed for £500K so a bit more than yours but there's plenty on the market for your price

I'd choose stokey over SS any day!

When you say north, where exactly do you mean? What counts as good transport links? For example, Alexandra Palace national rail goes into the City and King's Cross, plus you have the picadilly line nearby. Alexandra Palace is lovely with a great farmers market and a great playground. But its zone 3. Do you want very central?

I don't feel as safe as when I first moved here. Seems to be constantly be stabbings only a few streets away. I'm more towards Dalston though but it's a pretty small area.

I'm 25 years old and currently working near London Bridge. Would need good links into central and would be great to have a nice vibrant atmosphere with lots of pubs etc. x

You can get the 141 bus to London Bridge from Green Lanes/Manor House/Newington Green. I'd also look at Finsbury Park as there's a train to London Bridge from there.

@dreamingofsunshine ooo thank you, will check it out

Woodberry down area looks quite nice now...you might get a conversion nearby?

Stabbings in London are mostly gang related and the people know each other. They sadly become part and parcel of life. Seven Sisters isn't a much talked about area but nowadays people are loving areas nearby but not so much Tottenham.

They are but that still means you cross paths with people on a daily basis who carry weapons and don't give a shit about human life.

We lived there for 5 years and loved it- mainly for the great access to the Lea and Green Lanes for food, as well as excellent transport links. Never had any trouble walking home at night; it's always busy. If you like cycling or running I really recommend it for the river and marshes. Great cafe in Springfield park. Still go back quite often as friends there and it's tap rooms and farmers markets - rapidly gentrifying.

Yes it's London and all of the associated issues but no different to anywhere central really. We tried to stay there but couldn't find a big enough place at the right time. The only bad bit was the one way system which was very choked but that's been changed now.
