So, apologies if the answers are really obvious but I'm getting myself in a muddle and can't find a definite answer online.

Me and DH are looking to buy our first home sometime this year, DH is self employed and I'm currently on mat leave. We both have LISAs that will form part of our deposit and we're going to be moving cities (far enough that I'll have to resign from work). We've had a quick chat to a mortgage broker and explained our situation and he said we'd be fine to get a mortgage in these circumstances. In the list of documentation he's requested my last 3 pre-mat payslips. However, as I'm on mat leave I'm wondering if my income won't be counted and I'd be included as a dependent on the mortgage. We'd still be able to borrow the amount we want based on DH income, but if this happens can I still be named on the deeds? Can I still use my LISA if im not going to be on the mortgage?

Speaking to the mortgage broker again this week but if anyone can clear this up before so I don't sound like a numpty I'd be very grateful!

You'll still be joint on the mortgage and you can still use your LISA

Shea asking for your 3 pre mat leave pay slips and lenders will base it on that.

If youw ere at work currently they would ask for your most current last 3 pay slips..

If you're not going to be on the mortgage I dont think you can use your LISA no.

But to answer your first question they will include you but they need your last 3 pre mat leave pay slips to prove your income whilst working.

You can be on the mortgage even if your income isn't used to determine how much you can borrow. We did this with our first house - mortgage amount was all against my salary but DH was named on the mortgage.

Thanks TheChineseChicken I thought that might be the case, thanks for confirming!
