Living in Hastings...low down please

Hello, does anyone live in Hastings, or St Leornards that could give me the low down on what it's really like? DH watched location, location the other night and got all excited that we should move there... we've heard so many mixed things about it. Wonderful, love it, wouldn't live anywhere else to dreary, no employment, underskilled workers, full of addicts... what is it really like? We will of course come and have a look but it would be great to get some MNetters opinons please )

hi any more feedback as im really unsure such mixed messages! the road is ormerod avenue . there is the right to buy which is very tempting due to council discounts and im desp for a garden, not shared as where we are is!

hi mospera, have you cecided what to do yet?

(Yes it's a five year old thread but some of us are still asking the same questions!)

I'm in two minds about Hastings - can't make my mind up if it'd be a good idea or not!

im thinking about bexhill now, more suitable, and quieter/ safer.
