Airless Paint sprayer machine

Anyone done renovations and painted with an airless paint sprayer?

I'm thinking this will be a lot quicker than painting by roller or brush.

We will be taking all skirting off and having everything plastered. Carpets and floors will all be rid of too so was thinking plaster, spray paint, then new carpets floors and skirting etc so doesn't matter if things get a bit messy?

Problem is the fumes you may breath in and I feel you would spend that long masking it off its quicker with a roller and brush, the common mistake is cheap tools a good brush is £6+ roller at least £10 but it will hold more paint and put it on better

I thought you put the skirting on before the carpet goes down? Spraying uses more paint and you need to practise before doing your walls to avoid blotchy patches. You can get special filter masks in the DIY shop for spraying. You might find them in an agricultural supplies shop too. The sprayer needs to be a certain pressure to avoid misting. I would love to spray paint our house so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Smile

We bought something like this. It massively reduced the time it takes to paint a room.

@Knittedfairies - looks interesting. Where did you get it from please?

Knittedfairies · 11/04/2019 18:54

@wowfudge I must confess that I bought it on selly-telly (QVC?) a few years ago; the only thing I've bought from them. I actually got a very good deal; two for the price of one. It didn't come with an extension rod for ceilings, but a broom handle is a perfect fit.

Very similar to this

Consider the types of finishes you'll be spraying; this will help you narrow down your options. I recently went through a similar experience, wanting a sprayer to paint doors and trim. I was sold on the earlex 5500 hvlp until I read reviews about how difficult it is to get the conditions right for acrylic/latex paint, which is primarily what I'd be using. I eventually purchased an airless pain sprayer, the Graco tc pro. Even though the paint was fairly thick, I got a great finish on our front door with exterior latex with no thinning.
Regarding the poster's safety concern, I would say, it's called a gun; treat it as such. Don't point it at anything you don't want to paint, and only use it while it's plugged in/on. When searching for injection injury, it's difficult to overlook the importance of safety (for me at least).

@KilerFrost the thread is 3 years old. They've probably finished their decorating by now.

@girlmom21 I am really sorry about the day. I didn't note but will be careful in future. Thanks
