Baxi vs worcester??

I would love to hear opinions. We are trying to decide between a baxi 636 (with 7 years warranty) and Worcester 34cdi(with 10 years warranty). The Worcester quote is £500 more. Does anyone have a view they would like to share?

We have a Baxi - our boiler man installs both and whilst the Worcesters are probably a better boiler you get great value for money with the Baxi. We've had ours about 4 years and have had no problems at all.

Had a terrible time with Baxi. No aftercare whatsoever.

Just checked Which?. The best rated boilers are all Worcesters, including your 34cdi model which scores very well. The Baxis have poor scores.

I really would choose a brand with a stainless steel heat exchanger for reliability. Or the Intergas copper hybrid that matches your copper pipes so no corrosion.

@LondonMischief that is interesting as the engineer said that Baxi use stainless steel but Worcester have started to use plastic. Would you agree with that statement?

I think Baxi Platinum have stainless steel heat exchanger, Baxi tends to a poor rep, not sure if that extends to the higher end boilers. Worcester is aluminium when I last researched this. I am sure there is no plastic, it does not conduct heat.
Personally I would go with a Viessmann.

I think the poster whose DH is a gas fitter is probably best informed. Apparently a whole line in the Worcester factory is dedicated to building them for British Gas so says something
