Proper linoleum (not vinyl) - any experience?

Looking for flooring for a new kitchen. Don't like tile (cold, crockery breaks when dropped). Concerned about off-gassing and environmental impact of pvc. Thought linoleum might be good. Does anyone have any experience? The brand i am currently looking at is marmoleum. Or other flooring options i should consider?

Yes I used it in the bathroom in our previous house. It was lovely, really warm and felt god underfoot.
They have updated the range now, you can order samples online.
I dont understand why more places dont offer it tbh.

'good' !!

Used to work for a floor manufacturer that did vinyl and linoleum so I know a bit about it
It can be tricky to fit, especially if you need to put joins in an they won’t be invisible like LVT s would be. As it’s not as popular a lot of fitters don’t know how to do it and have very little or no experience (even if they say they do). It will also need sealing every 5-10 years depending on wear
It’s a lovely natural product but more hassle than Vinyl.
Marmoleum is a good make

We have Marmoleum in our kitchen diner. It's been down for 17 years and still looks fab. We're getting a new kitchen later this year and will be getting Marmoleum again.

trickyex and skippy good to hear you've had good experiences with it. Thanks for your input too hopping. I did read some cautionary tales about fitting! I am wondering about the clip and fit tiles they have now that don't need glueing. They have cork backing too. Have a few samples ordered up.

It should be fine with a good fitter but as it’s different to Vinyl you need one who can specifically fit Lino. The issue is everyone uses Lino as a generic term when they probably mean Vinyl
Lino Tiles should be easier (but more time consuming) than a sheet

I’m looking at having Karndean in my kitchen and cloakroom. Would be grateful for any advice / info
Thank you

I've had sheet marmoleum, lovely stuff! In a bathroom (I even gave birth on it and it cleaned right up...). Lovely underfoot. You do need a good fitter.
I've sheet rubber in my current house which I also love (and is even more of a pig to fit!), and I quite fancy cork if I need to redo a kitchen floor in future.
I do like floors...

We had marmoleum and it was lovely. if you need a job just make a feature out of it. We put a border into our kitchen so that it looked deliberate.
