Turning water off

We have a minor leak that is leaking into a bath so not causing any issues but are awaiting a part to have it fixed. We are going away for a week and I wonder if it would be wise to turn the water off? I've read that that can cause issues with storage tank, boiler etc and wondered if anyone knew how likely that was? Thanks!

In this scenario I would definitely turn off

I reckon if there was a leak whilst you were aware, you Ins company May argue you were negligent not to

DH always turns our water off when we go on holiday for any time longer than a weekend - even in the height of summer, with no ill effects to boiler AFAIK.
However, we don't have a "storage tank" .
If you are waiting for a part to get it fixed, does this mean you have had a plumber in to have a look at it?
If so, could you ask him/her if it would cause any problem to your system turning the water off?
