Worktop that’s not laminate, stone or corian

I’m running out of ideas of what to have as a worktop

I don’t want stone as it’s noisy and I’ve hated it when I’ve had it before, I don’t want corian or solid surface due to the scratches and staining and I’m not too sure wood or laminate would be any better either.

Any suggestions?
It’s going onto a matt beige and stone coloured units

Concrete?
Glass?

Have you considered cheese, it's the latest fashion? Make sure you use a hard cheese, we've opted for Wensleydale

Recycled glass? Although tbh I had never considered cheese before. It would look amazing, especially if you got a nice blue veined one.

I had t considered cheese. Thanks for the suggestions

I’m guessing quite a hard cheese would be better than a brie or Camembert

Ours is marble we love it. Can out hot things on it straight from oven, doesn't scratch, burn, warp. Shines to a polish easily

Formica?

stainless steel

Seriously. I thought the main benefit of quartz was that it didn't stain

Compact laminate? We have it and I love it. This is our worktop, but not our kitchen!

Cheese is a good idea but my kitchen is south facing. Would the sun cause issues with a melting worktop? Maybe a grilling cheese is best for me? Wink
At the moment I have quartz and it is Matt so looks good all the time. Don't have to polish to a shine. Hard wearing and no scratches but need to be careful with putting heat directly on it. A bit like the cheese option!

Quartz,, that's quite standard for a worktop
