So scared!!
Got planning permission ... found s builder who a friend recommended and he's a building inspector too so good source!

Looks like we can start in June on a pretty big job, bungalow extension to side, reshape nearly every room downstairs, move kitchen, lots of walks going, moving and changing. Complete new roof, and reshape roof, two new bedrooms and en suites in loft conversion

Moving out for 6 months
It's gonna cost a mint!
Are we bananas Shock?!

Positive stories please

How exciting! Hope it all goes well. Expect it to take longer than expected, cost more than expected & be more hassle than expected - but it'll be worth it Smile

Oh wow where are you going to live for 6 months? It might be a pain but I reckon it would be so worth it!

No experience but I am slightly a lot envious!

Thanks! Already emailed the mortgage broker to see how much more we can borrow ... I'm terrified 😱

We live in a small town, there are two bedroom rentals around the area we can get for six months plus so gonna go with that arrangement - once we get the green light with extra money we'll secure something - gulp! We need to essentially empty our house as any furniture will get in the way and also probably destroyed in the process - think we'll buy one of those metal garage things for the garden and shove a load of stuff in there and anything likely to suffer in those conditions we can take to the rental

I'm going to have to learn to live within a tighter budget I think - wish me luck 😳😉

Know what you want when it comes to where you want light fittings and plug sockets etc, and always ask for more sockets. But also listen to your builder he does this for a living so if your not sure ask what he would do. When we did our 2 story side extension we always asked our builder what he would do on placement of stuff and 99% of the time went with it. My builder changed a few things as how i wanted them would not have sat right, he would never have said anything if he knew i wasnt interested in his recommendations, but he did and everything works and flows so much better.
