Has anyone hired someone to dismantle and remove old sheds?

If so was it worth hiring someone for and how much should I expect to pay?

We paid 500 quid but that was part of a massive garden clean up-plus you can only access our garden through the house so they had to chop it up to get it out.

How bad is it?

If it's still got any life left in it, I'd be tempted to try to flog it on eBay for a token amount. Buyer to dismantle.

Your local allotment association might have people who want an old shed and be happy to come and get it. Depends on how bad a condition it is in though, I guess.

Our old shed was dismantled and taken away by the people who erected the new one. They charged £75 if I remember rightly.

I paid a waste clearance firm to take down and dispose of mine, along with all the crap that was inside it.

If you pay someone to do it, make sure they are properly licensed as you are liable to be fined if the waste later gets fly tipped.

Last week.

A shed that was 6' x 8' . £150 + an extra £10 for 8 rubble bags full of bricks (from a different demolishment). All cleared up & swept afterwards.

The shed had no life left in it at all.

If you are in Sussex pm me & I'll give you their number.

Very happy with the job.

We've sold a few run down garden sheds on ebay or preloved - they usually sell for around £25 or so, buyer to dismantle and takeaway - all the ones we sold went to people for livestock, i.e. hens, etc.
