Kids Clubs/extra-curricular activities - is provision good where you are (south, home counties/greater London)?

We are looking to relocate - but I am anxious that wherever we move to won't have as good activities/clubs for the children as we have now - they currently do swimming lessons, trampolining, gymnastics, dive club (off a board, not scuba), dance classes, athletics club etc - and, importantly, the local council run a good package deal on many of these, which helps with the £££. We currently live in a city, but I want to get out and move somewhere with a more village feel (we need to relocate for my partner's job, he will commute in to London but I am wondering how far out we can stay and still have it all!) - but will we be losing good access and availability to clubs and classes - what is your experience? Is everything over-subscribed with big wait lists? Do all councils run good package schemes?
Also, how far from you is a fun swimming pool - by that, I mean, more than just a basic pool, but one that has slides, rapid river, wave machine etc. We currently have one very close, and the kids love it, we go loads.

I am currently looking at home counties or Greater London, somewhere with good public transport into central London, but also a nice safe community vibe in a village. BUT, with great stuff to do for the children.

Villages around Maidenhead or Windsor might tick your boxes. There's lots of extra curriculum clubs round here although mine are little still so we don't use them all, my cousin's kids do! Can't help on whether there is much of a joint cost. Some of them do have long waiting lists, gymnastics specifically but there are a few options.

Commute into London is fast at rush times and crossrail still due but now at the end of the year. Leisure pools in Maidenhead and Windsor leisure centres then a much better version in bracknell at coral reef which is opposite the look out (also fun!).

Thank you. Can you name any villages in particular I could be looking at?

What is the lookout?

Have a look at cookham, Pinkneys Green, holyport, Hurley although most around are pretty nice. Depends what facilities you need and age of kids. If you live nearer the Marlow side then you stand a chance of getting them into grammar schools if desired.

The look out is a cool place with lots of woodland for walks and bikes, go ape, huge playground for all ages then an indoor science discovery centre.

Thank you.
They currently love doing loads of extra-curricular stuff as above (gymnastics, ballet, football, swimming etc) - that may well change but I reckon it's worth focusing on being able to provide those things for the next several years, I think.

Thanks re Lookout - sounds great!
